Somali Draft Police Act Review Workshop Concludes with Strong Focus on Accountability and Reform

A four-day workshop to review the draft Police Act has officially concluded bringing together members of the Parliamentary Committee on Interior Affairs, Regional Administration & Security and representatives from the Minister of Internal Security and the Somali Police Force and, with facilitation and support from EUCAP Somalia.

A four-day workshop to review the draft Police Act has officially concluded bringing together members of the Parliamentary Committee on Interior Affairs, Regional Administration & Security and representatives from the Minister of Internal Security and the Somali Police Force and, with facilitation and support from EUCAP Somalia.

The workshop aimed at reviewing the existing draft of the Police Act and enabling constructive discussions to strengthen the legal and institutional framework building police capacity, in support of accountability, professionalism and public trust.

Closing remarks were delivered by the Minister of Internal Security of Somalia H.E. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag and the EU Delegation.
