Warnock Statement on AGOA, Haiti HOPE/HELP Reauthorization Advancing to the Senate

Today, U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted to extend the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the Haiti Economic Lift Program (HELP).

"I am glad to see that AGOA and HOPE/HELP for Haiti have passed the House with an overwhelming bipartisan majority and are now headed to the Senate. The Senate should pass these trade agreements immediately."

"These agreements are beneficial to our country's economic and national interests and AGOA is key for countering threats to the U.S. posed by China and Russia's growing presence on the African continent. I look forward to working with Chairman Crapo and Ranking Member Wyden, as well as Leaders Thune and Schumer, to find a bipartisan path towards passage of these extensions-getting these critical trade programs back online and securing more support for Georgia small businesses and farmers as they pursue opportunities in the global market."
