On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 10:36 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to reports of shots fired near Southwest Naito Parkway and Southwest Harvey Milk Street. When officers arrived, they found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers on the scene performed life saving measures until paramedics arrived. One victim was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, and the other victim was pronounced deceased.
The suspect or suspects left the scene, and no immediate arrests were made.
The Portland Police Detective Division Homicide Unit is responding to the scene to investigate the case.
During the investigation, Southwest Naito Parkway is closed between Southwest Oak Street and Southwest Harvey Milk Street and Southwest Oak Street is closed between Southwest Naito Parkway and Southwest 2nd Avenue.
