UToledo Marketing Student Awarded Highly Selective Global Scholarship

A University of Toledo business student has been selected from a pool of hundreds of international applicants to attend a prestigious summer leadership program in China.

Sarah A. Soliman, a sophomore studying marketing in the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, was awarded the Tsinghua Global Dialogue Summer Scholarship. The competitive scholarship will fund her participation in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's PLACE Summer Camp in Guangzhou, China, from Aug. 8 to Aug. 21.

The program serves as a global cooperation network, inviting youth leaders to engage in practical explorations. Soliman was chosen from a 2026 applicant pool of more than 700. The program traditionally accepts only about 60 students from more than 30 countries.

Soliman, a second-generation immigrant who balances her degree pursuits with full-time employment, was mentored through the application process by Dr. Xianlin Jin, an associate professor in the UToledo Department of Communication and Media.
