YORK, Pa. - A circus act, a well-known alternative rock band, and a Broadway actress are among the performances that will headline the 20th anniversary season of the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at Penn State York.
"Twenty years is something to celebrate, and we are going all out this season," explained Anita Crawford, interim director of the Pullo Center. "We are launching a new multi-level membership program with exclusive perks (more details to come), hosting two community celebrations and offering a diverse array of entertainment options, including a sensory-friendly performance of a popular family show."
The Pullo Center will be hosting two community-centered anniversary events - a Penn State Day Community Celebration on Oct. 18, featuring theater tours, outdoor activities and entertainment from Penn State students, alumni, faculty and staff; and "Pullopalooza" on April 18, featuring a talent competition on an outdoor stage during the day and nationally-known artists from competition shows on the theater stage in the evening.
As part of the 2025-26 season, the Pullo will present a family-focused performance offering a sensory-friendly option. "Peppa Pig: My First Concert" will be held March 27 for two shows at 2 and 6 p.m., with the 2 p.m. performance designated as "sensory-friendly," meaning the show has been adapted to reduce overwhelming sensory stimulation to accommodate individuals with sensory sensitivities.
"The Pullo Center has been providing York County with community-focused programming for audiences of all ages and backgrounds since 2005," said Marilyn J. Wells, regional chancellor for Penn State York. "With this new season, we are excited to continue our commitment to providing experiences that have impact and allow families and individuals to create memories to last a lifetime."
The season lineup is rounded out with performances from national touring artists: Dan Tyminski Band, celebrating the 25th anniversary release of their version of the song "Man of Constant Sorrows" from the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou"; multi-platinum recording artist, bestselling author and dynamic faith-leader, Tauren Wells; Sixpence None the Richer with their holiday show, "O' Night Divine"; One Vision of Queen tribute; and Jessica Vosk, star of Broadway shows "Hell's Kitchen" and "Wicked." Calpulli Mexican Dance Company will perform "Dia de Muertos" in October and "Emerald Isle Celebration of Irish Music and Dance" will be at the Pullo for St. Patrick's Day.
Additionally, the Pullo Center partners with many community organizations for performances and recitals. This season brings events from Pennsylvania Ballet Academy, Experimental Movement Concepts, Encore: York County Musical Theatre Showcase and Distinguished Young Women.
