Career Services: Resources for Students and Alumni in 2025-26

September 10, 2025

The Career Services Center (CSC) continues to support Western students and alumni as they prepare for their careers and next steps. This year, CSC is focusing on services that reach the most people, make strong use of technology, and continuing to leverage its strong partnerships across campus.

Highlights of CSC Services in 2025-26:

  • Career Fairs: Three all-industries career and internship fairs will be held in fall, winter, and spring, connecting students directly with employers.
  • Virtual Drop-Ins: One-on-one career counseling sessions will be available three times per week via Zoom.
  • Workshops: Frequent sessions on resumes, cover letters, job and internship search, and career exploration are open to all students and alumni.
  • Resume Support: Students can email resumes and cover letters for feedback from trained student staff.
  • Online Tools: Handshake, SkillsFirst, Ask A Viking, and Parker Dewey continue to provide access to jobs, internships, alumni connections, and skill-building opportunities. Looking ahead, CSC is expecting to roll out additional digital resources designed to expand career exploration, provide more personalized guidance, and help students practice and showcase their skills in new ways.
  • New Programs: Career Prep Communities (cohort-based programs) and Interviewing & Networking Clinics expected to launch this year.

The CSC team is also collaborating with other campus partners to ensure students have access to resources such as graduate school advising, professional headshots, and the "Re-Gown It" graduation gown donation program.

CSC is open in person Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with remote support available Mondays and Fridays. Students are also welcome to drop by the Career Closet for professional attire or explore the open-access Career Development Toolkit Canvas course.
