Today, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) voted in favor of H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2027. H.R. 8469 passed the House by a vote of 400-15.
The legislation would fully fund veterans' benefits, health care programs, and mental health programs, along with investing over $2 billion in improvements for VA medical facilities and national cemeteries. The legislation would invest in military housing, childcare, and infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for servicemembers and their families, while also providing substantial funding for military construction projects to bolster our readiness.
"We must remain focused on bolstering our national security and delivering real results for the brave men and women in uniform both during service and after it," said Rep. Walberg. "This critical legislation will ensure veterans receive the benefits they have so rightfully earned, support our military families who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms, and modernize our military installations for next-generation defense capabilities. At a time when threats around the world are multiplying, this bill strengthens our military readiness and supports those who have valiantly fought for our freedoms."
