Franklin Resident Sentenced for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials

The Attorney General's Office announced that Nicholas Haller-Daskalides, 33, of Franklin, Vermont, was sentenced today on one felony count of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. The charge brought against Mr. Haller-Daskalides resulted from a criminal investigation by the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (VT-ICAC).

The Court, Judge Dana DiSano presiding, sentenced Mr. Haller-Daskalides to two and a half years to five years in prison, all suspended, with 10 years of probation. His conditions of release include completing mandatory sex offender treatment, restricting access to electronic devices, and having no contact with children under the age of 16.

If Mr. Haller-Daskalides violates the conditions of his probation, he faces up to five years in prison. Mr. Haller-Daskalides is also required to register as a sex offender for 10 years after the completion of his 10-year term of probation.

VT-ICAC investigates cases of child sexual exploitation occurring over the internet, including the production and online distribution of child sexual abuse materials. VT-ICAC also provides forensic examination services, technical assistance, law enforcement training, and public education and outreach.
