Dorssom’s Chapter Featured in Award-Winning Political Science Volume

Lincoln University's Elizabeth Dorssom, assistant professor of political science, contributed a chapter to Teaching Experimental Political Science, which has received the 2026 Best New Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Book Award from the American Political Science Association's Teaching and Learning in Political Science Section.

Edited by Elizabeth A. Bennion and published by Edward Elgar Publishing, the volume explores how educators can use experimental design to engage students in examining real-world questions and problems.

Dorssom's chapter, "Train the Trainer: A Field Experiment Workshop for Graduate Students & Faculty," presents a model for teaching graduate students and faculty how to design and conduct field experiments.

The book brings together teacher-scholars who examine how experimental approaches can help students test assumptions, explore "what if" questions and investigate issues relevant to students, researchers, policymakers, political practitioners and communities.
