LAFAYETTE WARMING SHELTER OPERATIONS EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY
Lafayette, LA - Due to continued freezing temperatures across Lafayette Parish, Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG), in coordination with the Lafayette Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP) and community partners, will continue warming shelter operations at the Dupuis Recreation Center (1212 E. Pont Des Mouton Road), with operations resuming tonight and extending through Monday morning.
The warming shelter will operate overnight on the following schedule:
The warming shelter will be closed during the day on Sunday to allow for facility reset, cleaning, and preparation for continued overnight operations.
Transportation Assistance
Transportation to the warming shelter is available through the Lafayette Transit System (LTS) during normal operating hours. Individuals may present at:
All LTS fares are waived for individuals seeking transportation to the warming shelter. Note LTS does not operate on Sundays; anyone needing transportation assistance outside of transit operating hours may call 211 for support.
Donation Information
To help ensure warming shelter operations remain focused on guest safety and care, all donations should be directed to ARCH ShareHouse, located at 211-A Guilbeau Road, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Facility & PARC Programming Impacts
To accommodate warming shelter operations, basketball games previously scheduled at the Dupuis Recreation Center on Saturday, January 31, have been relocated to Carencro High School at 721 W. Butcher Switch Road (Building 5 - Boys' Gym).
Weather & Safety Updates
Residents are urged to take precautions during freezing conditions and to check on elderly neighbors, individuals experiencing homelessness, and others who may be vulnerable to the cold.
