Join the Oceanside Public Library and Professor Garrett Chaffin-Quiray for a new movie series: The Hidden Life, which will present three films that discover unseen desires, hidden truths, and the worlds concealed beneath the surface of everyday life. Chaffin-Quiray, a professor of Cinema Studies at Palomar Community College, will present each screening by exploring the artistic and sociological character of the films and lead a discussion afterward. He is the author of two books: Cine-Me (2012) and Under the Tent-Pole: A Primer on Movies: Blockbusters, Oscar Winners, Alternatives, and You (2014).
The movie series will take place in the Civic Center Library Community Rooms, at 330 N. Coast Highway in Oceanside. Light refreshments will be provided.
