Lab of Ornithology to host annual Migration Celebration

Head on over to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to celebrate the annual phenomenon of bird migration - a marvel of nature now picking up steam for the fall.

Migration Celebration is being held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cornell Lab, 159 Sapsucker Woods Road, Ithaca. A special pre-celebration bird walk is being hosted by the Cayuga Bird Club at 8:30 a.m.

Join for a full day of free walks, workshops, presentations, hands-on activities, and live birds of prey. Experience the interactive and accessible exhibits of the Visitor Center and participate in a range of community activities scheduled throughout the day from learning how to make your home bird friendly to exploring the world of sound. This free and family-friendly event offers something for everyone.

"Migration Celebration brings together so many of the things we love about the Lab: birds, science, creativity, and community," said Lisa Kopp, visitor experience manager. "Whether you're a lifelong birder or just curious about what's happening outside your window, there are so many ways to connect, learn, and have fun together."
