No Kings Rally and March set for Saturday, March 28 in Grant Park

CHICAGO - The Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) is reminding the public of large crowds and security measures in place this weekend. Due to the No Kings Rally and March there will be rolling street closures in the downtown and Grant Park areas on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The rally and march begins at 1:30 p.m. OEMC stresses the importance of always being aware of your surroundings and reporting suspicious activity to onsite event security or by calling 9-1-1.

OEMC will monitor weekend events and weather conditions citywide from the Operations Center and public safety resources with the Chicago Police Department, Chicago Fire Department and City of Chicago infrastructure departments. The Chicago Police Department will have additional resources visible and present across the city to protect all those exercising their First Amendment Rights, as well as all those living, working and visiting affected areas.

Grant Park and Lakefront Pole Markers/Location Identifiers: For public safety on the lakefront throughout the year and during events and concerts residents and visitors are reminded to be aware of the numbers attached to the poles along sidewalks throughout the Grant Park area as well as various points along the lakefront and on DuSable Lake Shore Drive from 5700 North to 6600 South. The pole markers help reference their location within the park to event security and first responders if there is an emergency.

Motorists in the area should be prepared for increased traffic and reroutes in and around Grant Park and the Loop. Rolling street closures will be in effect to ensure public safety. Traffic Control Aides (TCAs) will be on hand at events citywide to direct flow and traffic impacts. Public transportation is encouraged. For more information on CTA services and reroutes, visit transitchicago.com or call 312-836-7000 from any area code/1-888-YOUR-CTA.

Report Suspicious Activity: If You See Something Say Something. The City reminds the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity. If you notice something suspicious, notify onsite security or call 9-1-1. If You See Something, Say Something™ is a national anti-terrorism public awareness campaign that emphasizes the importance of reporting suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.
