AM Best to Participate in Demex Webinar on Capital Treatment of Property Catastrophe Reinsurance Products

Two AM Best rating analysts will participate in a webinar sponsored by Demex that will address the state of the U.S. property reinsurance market for insurers, the different kinds of reinsurance products available, and how those are considered by AM Best in its rating process.

Emmanuel Modu, managing director and head of global reinsurance and insurance-linked securities, AM Best, will be joined by Tom Mount, a senior director in the rating agency's property/casualty (P/C) ratings division, during the webinar that is scheduled for 11 a.m. EST on Thursday, April 30. The session is titled "Capital Treatment of Property Catastrophe Reinsurance Products" and will include Matt Coleman, Demex's president of reinsurance.

In addition to a reinsurance market, the webinar will also address modeled loss, aggregate reinsurance levels for severe convective storms, how AM Best considers different reinsurance products - traditional indemnity and alternative/non-indemnity solutions, and the rating agency's approach to basis risk.
