Conservation Officers seeking information on mule deer does shot and left to waste in the Fall Creek drainage

Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers are asking for the public's help in solving a case involving two mule deer does that were shot and left to waste in the Fall Creek drainage of Game Management Unit 66.

The animals were discovered lying just off the shoulder of the road approximately two miles up the Fall Creek drainage. Both does had been shot in the head with a small-caliber firearm and left at the scene a short distance apart.

Fish and Game was notified of the incident through the Citizens Against Poaching (CAP) hotline on August 19. Based on information gathered so far, officers do not believe these deer were involved in a vehicle collision and that the shooting likely occurred on August 16 or 17.

Waste of wildlife is a serious violation, and Fish and Game is urging anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward. Callers can remain anonymous when reporting wildlife violations and may be eligible for cash rewards when that information leads to a citation for a wildlife crime.
