NAPA COUNTY - For the second consecutive year, Napa County has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2025-26 fiscal year. The award represents a significant achievement by the County, reflecting the commitment of the Board of Supervisors and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
To earn this recognition, government organizations must meet nationally-recognized guidelines that assess how well the budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications guide. With more than 1,900 participants in GFOA's Budget Awards Program, recipients demonstrate leadership in improving the quality of budgeting and serve as exemplary models for governmental budgeting.
"This recognition is not only a meaningful achievement for Napa County, but a reflection of our continued commitment to financial transparency, accountability, and exceptional stewardship of taxpayer resources," said Ryan Alsop, Napa County Chief Executive Officer. "I want to express my gratitude to all staff whose dedication and hard work on the budget ensures that the document is clear, comprehensive, and ultimately serves as a trusted blueprint for investing in the future of our residents."
