Gov. Rhoden Statement on Mayday Health v. Rhoden Injunction

PIERRE, S.D. - Today, Governor Larry Rhoden issued a statement on the U.S. District Court's preliminary injunction in the Mayday Health v. Rhoden lawsuit.

"While I am disappointed by today's ruling, it is important to remember that this is only a preliminary decision. The court has not issued a final ruling on the constitutionality of South Dakota's law," said Governor Larry Rhoden. "South Dakota has a long-standing commitment to protecting both moms and unborn babies, and House Bill 1274 reflects the will of the people through their elected representatives. I remain confident that our law is not only constitutional - it's vitally important. I appreciate Attorney General Marty Jackley and his team for their continued defense of South Dakota's laws. We will continue to vigorously defend our state's laws to keep South Dakota the most pro-life state in America."
