Changes are coming to Palmetto’s solid waste and recycling services this October 2025.
Service Changes:
- Recycling schedule updates: Residents who live north of 10th St. will have recycling pickup on Friday; residents south of 10th St. will continue on Monday
- Twice-a-week trash pickup will continue in Palmetto, unlike in unincorporated Manatee County
- No more plastic bags for yard waste (effective Oct. 1)
- Free drop-off events for electronics, chemicals, and paper shredding coming this fall

Rate Changes:

The Residential and Commercial rates are also being adjusted effective October 1, 2025.
- Residential service for solid waste/recycling/yard waste will be $22.75/mo.
- Commercial rates will vary based on container size
