Improvements to Taku Harbor infrastructure will take place from Monday, March 30 to Friday, May 1. Construction will replace the Taku Harbor approach float, which is over 50 years old and is experiencing extreme structural issues, with an elevated catwalk that is safer for public use and requires less maintenance from the City and Borough of Juneau Docks and Harbors.
During construction, the approach dock to the state-owned Taku Harbor Tiger Olson Cabin will not be accessible. Visitors to the cabin should plan alternative means to get ashore.
