As 2025 draws to a close, the APNIC Blog will feature a series called ' Three of the best ', highlighting the most popular posts from the past 12 months.

The Internet technical community of the Asia Pacific (and further afield) continued to make an incredible contribution to the APNIC Blog in 2025. Special thanks to all the experts in our community who generously shared their knowledge.

1. Network traffic modelling approaches - Diptanshu Singh explains that understanding traffic patterns is fundamental to designing and operating networks, and illustrates the characteristics of traffic models using synthetic data.
2. Co-Packaged Optics - a deep dive - Sharada Yeluri argues that power savings make the transition to Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) switches in data centres inevitable, and that the successful deployment of CPO switches will pave the way for extending photonics elsewhere.
