Consul & Head of Post of the Chinese Consulate in Laoag Li Xiaoyan Visits Abra

On Janurary 29, 2026, Consul & Head of Post Li Xiaoyan of Chinese Consulate in Laoag, paid a visit to the Province of Abra, and held a meeting with Hon. Gov. Takit Bersamin. Several Provincial BMs and heads of departments of the Provincial Government of Abra, including those of tourism and agriculture, were present at the meeting.

Li pointed out that Abra is a major province in Northern Luzon and expressed the Consulate's willingness to strengthen ties with Abra and explore the possibility of enhancing exchanges and cooperation between Abra and China's provinces. She also invited to Gov. Bersamin to visit China.

Gov. Bersamin and other offciers provided an overview of Abra's economic and social development. The two sides exchanged views on tourism development, medical cooperation, waste management, and other related areas.

During the visit, Li, accompanied by provincial government officials, conducted a friendly visit to the Abra's largest traditional loom weaving Brgy. in La Paz, and engaged in exchanges with local people. In addition, Li also met with representatives of the local Chinese community to extend her Chinese New Year greetings for the Year of the Horse.
