On March 11, 2026, shortly after midnight, Central District General Patrol officers arrested a 28-year-old man during a traffic stop in the 600 block of Toronto Street.
While conducting proactive patrols in the downtown area, officers observed a 2014 Audi A4 turn onto Toronto Street from Wellington Avenue without signalling. Officers conducted a traffic stop to address the Highway Traffic Stop infraction. The driver attempted to walk away from officers but was quickly apprehended and searched for their safety.
During the search, officers located a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle and four rounds of compatible ammunition, all concealed on his person.
Thaddeus Cyril SUTHERLAND (28), is charged with the following offences:
