SGMC Health Honors Ramsey with BEE Award

SGMC Health recognized Erskine Ramsey, a sonographer at SGMC Urology, as the April recipient of the Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Award.

Ramsey was nominated by a patient's spouse for the compassionate, reassuring care he provided during ongoing cancer treatments-care that made a lasting impact during a particularly challenging time. Known for his calm demeanor, kindness, and professionalism, Ramsey consistently creates a supportive environment for patients and their families from the moment they arrive.

"He takes the time to talk with you, reassure you, and make sure you are comfortable every step of the way," the nominator shared. "His positive attitude is contagious, and he has an incredible ability to turn a stressful experience into something that feels manageable."

According to the nomination, Ramsey's presence transformed what could have been an overwhelming experience into one built on trust and comfort. "We actually found ourselves looking forward to these visits because we knew Erskine would be there taking such great care," the nominator shared.

The BEE Award is presented monthly to recognize non-nursing staff members, including patient care technicians, nursing assistants, and medical assistants, who exemplify extraordinary dedication, teamwork, and compassion in supporting the nursing staff. Nominees are evaluated based on leadership, attitude, and clinical support skills.

SGMC Health offers a variety of recognition programs to honor employees who most exemplify the tagline, "Remarkable People, Extraordinary Care, Human Kindness." To learn more about the BEE Award and other recognition programs, visit sgmc.org/recognition.
