The City of Santa Barbara invites community members to celebrate Santa Barbara's 26th annual Creek Week, taking place Saturday, September 20, through Saturday, September 27. Creek Week is an annual opportunity to learn more about our local creeks, watersheds, and the ocean through a series of fun and educational events and activities for all ages.

Creek Week will kick off with Coastal Cleanup Day, where community members can volunteer at over 25 beach and creek locations countywide. A full schedule of walks, talks, tours, and more continues throughout the week and are hosted by local governmental agencies, community groups, and environmental organizations.

The Sustainability & Resilience Department's Creeks Division will host a tour on the Land Shark, a Steelhead Art Show and Community Forum, an Urban Creek Trails walk, a Microplastic Pollution presentation, a tour of the Mission Creek Restoration Project at Oak Park, a Happy Hour event at the Brewhouse, and partner with the Library on the Go for a Coffee at the Creek event. In the Library's Faulkner Gallery, a photography exhibit is on display all month featuring photos of the staff's favorite creek spots.is

For the full schedule of events and additional details, please visit Creek Week or Facebook page.

Creek Week is coordinated by the City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division, County of Santa Barbara Project Clean Water, City of Goleta, City of Carpinteria, University of California, Santa Barbara, and Explore Ecology.
