Under State Superintendent Megan Degenfelder's leadership, the Wyoming Department of Education has driven statewide academic growth across every grade level and core content area. Data demonstrate consistent, multi-year progress across English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science.

Over the four years, English Language Arts scores grew by 3.7% overall, anchored by strong elementary-grade performance. Grades 3, 4, and 5 each improved by at least 6%, highlighted by four consecutive years of growth in Grade 3 and three consecutive years of growth in Grade 4.

Mathematics scores surged by 5.9% overall, with Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 all increasing by at least 5% over the four-year span. Grade 4 led this subject area, improving 11.5% and posting gains for three consecutive years, while Grades 3 and 5 both improved by more than 7%. Additionally, Grade 9 math scores rose 5.5% and gained each of the last three years.

Science performance also saw widespread gains, up 4.2% overall. Grades 4 and 10 both increased by at least 6% over the past four years, with Grade 4 showing steady, uninterrupted gains each year.

"I couldn't be prouder of Wyoming's students and educators for delivering growth across every subject and grade level this year. Marking solid math gains and building steady progress in reading doesn't happen by accident-it is the direct result of dedicated teachers, strong instruction in the classroom, statewide priorities, and unwavering family and community support," said Degenfelder. "Data show that our strategic priorities, from literacy and supporting teachers to career and technical education and parental empowerment, deliver real outcomes for Wyoming families. Driving continuous, multi-year gains in core content areas-particularly in foundational grades-demonstrates that our state's investment in academic excellence is working. But the work doesn't stop here. We keep pushing, keep fighting for better outcomes for Wyoming students."

Washakie School District #2 had proficiency rates of 70% or better in all three content areas, while Sheridan School District #1 and Sheridan School District #2 also met this criterion in two content areas. The following districts had proficiency rates of 70% or better in at least one content area: Sheridan School District #3, Sublette School District #1, Lincoln School District #2, Cheyenne Classical Academy, and Wyoming Classical Academy. The two Academies and Sheridan School District #3 also showed the most improvement, along with Platte School District #2 and Washakie School District #1.

PODER Academy Secondary earned the title of highest-performing high school in all three content areas, with proficiencies of 89.5% in ELA, 85.4% in Math, and 87.5% in Science.

"We are honored to be the highest-performing high school in the great state of Wyoming. Our staff and students strive to be the top school every year, as academic achievement is our top priority. We appreciate the recognition, and we are very proud of our student success," said Marcos Martinez, CEO/Founder, PODER Academy Schools.
