(Leavenworth, Kansas) - Daniela Jimenez-Paz, a Master of Science in Athletic Training student at the University of Saint Mary, has earned the NAIA-ATA (NAIA Athletic Trainers Association) Al Ortolani Athletic Training Scholarship. The scholarship, named in honor of the head athletic trainer at Pittsburgh State University (1955-1995), the Al Ortolani Scholarship Award, recognizes student-athletes pursuing an entry-level degree in athletic training.
During a successful volleyball career, Jimenez-Paz learned how important it is for athletes to have the best care and have someone with them in more challenging times.
Through her studies, on-campus jobs, and extracurriculars, Jimenez-Paz has developed many meaningful relationships with student-athletes and staff. Her positivity, professionalism, and willingness to take on new opportunities, along with an exceptional work ethic, have made her a distinguished student in athletic training. She leads with compassion and curiosity that will serve her well in a career in athletics.
After graduation, Jimenez-Paz aspires to work for a minor league or rookie team before hopefully taking her talents to the major leagues.
