China Media Group launched its "Bright Future of Humanity" global AI visual works call-for-submissions ceremony on in Hollywood, Los Angeles, in partnership with the New York Film Academy (NYFA). President of CMG, Shen Haixiong described the initiative as an innovative practice in AI-powered video production that aims to explore emotional resonance between humans and artificial intelligence beyond mere coding. As a "responsible, world-class, and innovative mainstream media group," CMG pledged to work with international partners to advance AI development whilst ensuring the technology remains people-centred and serves the good of humanity
The ceremony attracted significant industry attention, with Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng delivered a video address emphasising potential Sino-American cooperation in AI and visual arts. Ambassador Xie highlighted that both nations should "join hands" to enhance exchanges between enterprises and conduct joint research on technological breakthroughs. Meanwhile, Vice President of NYFA, Sunny Calderon reinforced the academy's view of AI as a creative collaborator rather than replacement, encouraging young creators to use AI tools to "expand their imagination and pursue ideas once thought impossible."
More than 100 guests attended the launch, including Oscar voters from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, executives from Warner Bros., senior Hollywood filmmakers, and AI experts.
