On March 11, 2026, the Winnipeg Police Bail Compliance Unit (BCU) arrested four suspects who fled from a stolen vehicle in the Elmwood area. The driver remains in custody.

At approximately 8:10 p.m., BCU officers observed a stolen 2011 Ford Mustang in the area of Talbot Avenue and Stadacona Street. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Air1 took visual containment of the Mustang and led ground units to the area of Poplar Avenue and Levis Street, where the occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Officers flooded the area and arrested the occupants, including the driver, Roger Clint GENAILLE (30). During his arrest, officers located two knives and a machete. He is prohibited from driving in Canada and was also the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to comply with probation. He has been charged with the following:

  • Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer
  • Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
  • Possession of a Weapon x 3
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  • Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited Pursuant to Federal Act x 2
  • Warrant - Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 3

GENAILLE was detained in custody.

A 33-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman, and a 20-year-old man, who were passengers in the vehicle, were released without charges.
