Illinois judges receive recognition and awards

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

• Illinois Supreme Court Justice Joy V. Cunningham was honored on June 25, 2026, by the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) at their annual meeting in Chicago as the recipient of the 2026 Robert A. Clifford Champion of Justice Award. The award is given each year to a person in the legal profession who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the CBA, the legal profession, clients, and the community.
• · Cook County Circuit Judge Ginger Leigh Odom was honored this month by the American Bar Association's Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division as the recipient of the Dorsey Award for her work in the Illinois Office of the State Appellate Defender (OSAD) for over 20 years prior to joining the bench.
• Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism Executive Director Erika Harold was honored on June 26, 2026, as the recipient of the Cook County Bar Association's (CCBA) Donald Hubert Historical Award for ethics and professionalism programming at the CCBA's 112^th Installation and Awards Banquet. The award recognizes a lawyer or layperson for outstanding leadership in developing or promoting CCBA legal ethics and professionalism programming.
