James Madison Cup, Sept. 17

In honor of Constitution Day, the UAA Department of Political Science will hold the annual James Madison Cup competition on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in the lecture hall of the Conoco-Phillips Integrated Science Building (CPISB), Room 120 on the UAA Anchorage campus.

The competition is open to students at UAA and juniors or seniors in Alaska high schools.

The only recommended preparation is to study the Constitution of the United States and sign up. Contestants may also sign up on the day of the competition upon arrival. The rules will be reviewed that evening.

Students may compete alone or with a teammate. Those who do not have a teammate but would like one, may come to the event and will be matched with another student.

Students can check with their instructor for extra credit.

Students, teachers, family members, friends and others who want to watch the competition are also welcome to join that evening.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The competition will begin at 6 p.m.
