Japan and the Republic of Korea Issue Joint Press Release on the Enhanced Cooperation on Energy Security and Supply Chain Resilience

Joint press release with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources of the Republic of Korea

On Monday, May 18, Mr. Akazawa Ryosei, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Mr. JK (Jung-Kwan) KIM, Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources of the Republic of Korea (ROK), held an online meeting and issued a joint press release as one of the outcomes of the Japan-ROK Summit held on the same day.

During the meeting, both ministers discussed cooperation on energy security and supply chain resilience, which were key agenda items at the summit held in Andong, ROK, between Ms. Takaichi Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, and H.E. Mr. Lee Jae Myung, President of the Republic of Korea.

The ministers issued a joint press release as one of the outcomes of the leaders' summit.
