Henderson announces Distinguished Freshman Scholarship recipients

Ten Henderson State University freshmen have been awarded Distinguished Freshman Scholarships for the 2026-27 academic school year. These full-tuition scholarships are awarded to a select number of students based on academic excellence and an application and interview process.

The 2026-27 Henderson State Distinguished Freshman Scholarship recipients are:

  • Aiden Bigelow, a music education-instrumental education major from Daingerfield, Texas.
  • Sarah Parish, a natural sciences-pre-medicine major from Clinton.
  • Raymond Holmes, an engineering major from Flower Mound, Texas.
  • Jack Seago, an aviation-professional pilot major from Little Rock.
  • Clayton Mitchell, a mechanical engineering major from Lockesburg.
  • Grady Rogers, an aviation-professional pilot major from Little Rock.
  • Alivia Key, a radiography major from Prescott.
  • Angela Freeman, a business administration major from Daingerfield, Texas.
  • Lucas Sutterfield, an aviation-professional pilot major from Hot Springs.
  • Colin Riley, an aviation-professional pilot major from Cabot.

"We are honored to welcome these 10 exceptional students to Henderson State University," said Dr. Trey Berry, Henderson chancellor. "Earning the Distinguished Freshman Scholarship is a tremendous accomplishment that reflects hard work, dedication, and academic excellence. We are proud that these students have chosen Henderson State to pursue their education."
