ERIA President Attends Hari Raya Open House in Brunei Darussalam and Engages with Ministers

Bandar Seri Begawan, 22-23 March 2026 : ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe attended a series of Hari Raya Open House events in Brunei Darussalam, one of the country's most important annual celebrations. Accompanied by Mr Okouchi Hiroshi, ERIA's Special Representative for Brunei Affairs, President Watanabe paid courtesy visits to ministerial residences and exchanged festive greetings.

During the visits, President Watanabe met with H.E. Pehin Dato Dr Awang Haji Ahmad bin Haji Jumat, Former Minister of Industry and Primary Resources; H.E. Asrul Adrain Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy; H.E. Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications; H.E. Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II of Brunei Darussalam; H.E. Ahmad Zaiemaddien Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi, Head of the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat; and H.E. Dato' Abdul Manaf Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.
