Final alignment complete - Spark North East Link Tunnels D&C has made huge progress at Blamey Road, with the entrance to the Simpsons Barracks now in its final alignment. This milestone paves the way for culvert installation as part of the ongoing ventilation tunnel works.
Once complete, the ventilation tunnel will connect to the Northern Ventilation Structure, helping draw fresh air into the tunnels and maintain safe air quality for everyone travelling through the North East Link.
Webuild, as part of the Spark Joint Venture, is delivering the North East Link. The project will take 15,000 trucks off local roads every day and reduce travel times by up to 35 minutes for commuters. Once complete, it will be the longest road tunnel in Victoria.
