City of Simi Valley to Host 2026 State of the City Address on September 16

The City of Simi Valley invites the community to attend the 2026 State of the City Address, to be delivered by Mayor Dee Dee Cavanaugh on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, located at 3050 E. Los Angeles Avenue. The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with doors opening and hors d'oeuvres served at 3:00 p.m. The presentation will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m.

This year's theme, Lights, Camera, Action…Spotlight on Simi Valley, will highlight the people, projects, partnerships, and investments helping move Simi Valley forward. The presentation will highlight key accomplishments from the past year, the results of investments being made in public safety, infrastructure, economic development, and community services, and major initiatives shaping the City's future. It will also provide a closer look at how public resources are being used to address community needs and deliver services residents rely on every day.

"The State of the City gives us an opportunity to reflect on how far we've come and, more importantly, the impact our work is having across Simi Valley. A tremendous amount is happening throughout our City, some highly visible and some behind the scenes," said Mayor Dee Dee Cavanaugh. "Our focus remains on maintaining the quality of life our residents value while making thoughtful investments in Simi Valley's future. I look forward to sharing the progress we've made, celebrating what we've accomplished together, and highlighting the work and opportunities ahead."

Admission is free, but space is limited, and advance reservation is required. Guests may register at https://www.tinyurl.com/SimiValleySOTC and may include the names of all attendees in their party when completing the reservation.

For those unable to attend in person, the 2026 State of the City Address will be streamed live on the City of Simi Valley's YouTube channel beginning at 4:00 p.m. A recording of the presentation will also be made available following the event.

To comply with the Brown Act, the event will be conducted as a Special Meeting of the Simi Valley City Council. For additional information, please contact the City Manager's Office at (805) 583-6700.
