Local law enforcement officials responded to a domestic violence call at late legend Dolly Parton's home the month before her death, according to a recent report.
In Touch first reported that police responded to the call at Parton's home in Brentwood, Tennessee, outside of Nashville, on July 13, per the police department's incident report. Brentwood Officer Peter Spain stated in the incident report that Keegan Seaver, 21, told him that his aunt, Rebecca Seaver, 40, "had struck him with her open hands about his body several times which stemmed from a verbal confrontation he had with Ms. Seaver's coworker, Ms. Andrea Abernathy, earlier in the day." Rebecca Seaver "admitted that she did confront her nephew regarding his behavior towards Ms. Abernathy. She claimed she made no physical contact with him other than when he placed his hand in her face in an attempt to provoke her, so she lightly smacked his hand out of her face," the report states. Spain did not "determine a primary aggressor or that an assault even occurred," citing a lack of evidence and contradicting statements. He advised them to separate from one another and communicate with their supervisors to avoid further conflict. Keegan Seaver was reportedly uninjured in the alleged incident.
Parton "died peacefully" on August 25, according to an official announcement. She was 80. Representatives for the "I Will Always Love You" icon said in a statement to PEOPLE the same day, "after bravely facing a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her Earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center surrounded by loved ones." Parton was laid to rest beside her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025. He was 82.
