Fall Fest, Prophetstown State Park

Friday, October 24^th

8pm-9:30pm Not So Creepy Critters Night Hike

Uncover the mystery behind some of nighttime's "creepiest" critters! Are they full of tricks or are they a nocturnal treat? This hike is best suited for kids ages 5 and up or for children who are comfortable being in the dark. Participants may bring a flashlight though we will turn all lights off for a portion of the program. The hike will be about 1 mile round-trip.

Saturday, October 25^th

11am-12pm Corn Husk Dolls

How would children pass the time at Prophetstown? Join a volunteer in the Native American Village to learn more about one common toy that might have been seen at Prophetstown. You'll be able to make your very own! Supplies are limited. First come, first serve. Park at the Visitor's Center and safely cross the road.

1pm-3pm Boo at the Barn: Trick or Treating with Animals at The Farm

Registration required. Get ready for a spooky and fun-filled afternoon at Boo at the Barn-a trick-or-treating experience like no other! Bring the whole family in your favorite costume and visit our farm animals, who will be dressed up for the occasion too! Travel around The Farm and stop at each station to collect a treat, while enjoying the festive atmosphere and the sights of our farm animals in their Halloween best. 5pm-6pm Campground Trick-or-Treating

Trick or treating in the campground starts at 5pm! Campers - have your treats ready for the kids walking by. Open to the public, and parking is available at the campground entrance. No vehicle traffic allowed through the campground from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Visit campsite 259 in the Savanna Loop to trick or treat with park staff and volunteers and to get your fall fest photo!

6:30pm-9pm Campsite Evaluation

Decorate your campsite for a chance to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in campsite décor! Judges will tour the campground between these hours to evaluate your campsite. You are welcome to provide a tour to the judges as they walk through.

Sunday, October 26^th

8:30am-3pm Trail of Scarecrows Scavenger Hunt

Pick up a scavenger hunt at the Visitor's Center to complete along the Trail of Scarecrows! Return your completed scavenger hunt in exchange for a small prize. Available during Visitor Center hours only.

11am Winners List

Winners from the campsite decorating will be contacted at their campsite around this time. A list of winning sites will be posted on the Campground Shower Building Bulletin Board. Winners, if we don't catch you at your campsite to give you your prize, make sure to stop by the Visitor Center and pick it up!
