Summer Aquatics Update, Community Opportunities to Stay Cool

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is sharing a mid-season update on aquatics amenities and ways for residents to stay cool, active, and connected this summer. Outdoor pools at Peeler Recreation Center, 1300 Sykes Ave., and Warnersville Recreation Center, 601 Doak St., are open to the community with daily swim sessions.

Current hours of operation:

Beginning the weekend of Saturday, August 15, both outdoor pools will transition to weekend-only operations, with the season concluding on Sunday, September 6.

In addition to pools, residents can enjoy spraygrounds at Keeley Park, 4100 Keeley Rd. (McLeansville), and Barber Park, 1500 Barber Park Dr. Spraygrounds open daily from 11 am to 5 pm, offering free, family-friendly ways to beat the heat.

Lindley Pool Project Update
As part of ongoing investments in Greensboro's aquatic facilities, the Lindley Pool renovation project continues to make significant progress. During final inspections, it was determined that the pool's filtration system requires full replacement to meet current safety and operational standards. A custom system has been ordered, with installation anticipated this fall.

While Lindley Pool will not reopen for the 2026 season, this additional improvement ensures the facility will provide a high-quality, reliable experience for years to come. The project remains on track for reopening in 2027.

The community's continued patience and support is welcomed as the City invests in long-term improvements to local recreational spaces. The City looks forward to welcoming residents to a refreshed Lindley Pool and encourages everyone to take advantage of the many available amenities this summer.
