New Brunswick Seeking Next Generation of Firefighters
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (July 23, 2026) - New Brunswick is seeking its next generation of first responders as the application window opens for the 2026 New Jersey Civil Service Entry-Level Firefighter Examination.
Aspiring firefighters have until August 31 at 4 p.m. to apply. Written testing is scheduled for December 2026 and January 2027, with results expected in March 2027. The physical performance test is anticipated to begin in late spring 2027.
Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old by the deadline and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
Candidates can submit an application through the New Jersey Civil Service Commission Portal. Additional details and study resources are available on the State Public Safety Titles page.
