Thousand Springs Road Closed Aug. 4–5 for Repairs
The Thousand Springs Grade, south of Hagerman, will be closed to all traffic Aug. 4-5 while Idaho Power performs necessary roadwork near its power plant there.
This is the final phase of the repair project that closed the road in June.
The closure will prevent access to Idaho Power's Thousand Springs Park and Ritter Island/Thousand Springs State Park. Public access will reopen Aug. 6.
The Thousand Springs power plant includes diversion structures and a powerhouse with three generators with a total generating capacity of 6,800 kilowatts.
