City of Southfield Commemorates Memorial Day with Ceremony on May 22

The City of Southfield invites residents and community members to attend the 2026 Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday, May 22 at 9 a.m. at the Southfield Municipal Campus, City Council Chambers, 26000 Evergreen Road.

This annual ceremony brings the community together in remembrance of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The program will feature a keynote address by Matthew Daigler, PMP, Program Director of Detroit Veteran Village with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, along with remarks and tributes.

Traditional elements of remembrance will include a moment of silence, wreath placement, a 21-gun salute, and the playing of Taps.
