When disasters strike - like a wildfire, flood, or earthquake-San Diego County needs a clear plan to keep people safe and protect homes and property. The Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (Plan) is that guide . It identifies hazards and risks that could affect our communities and ways we can reduce the impacts of disasters.
We are updating the Plan in 2026 and 2027, and your feedback is very important . It helps make sure the Plan reflects changes to both the hazards threatening San Diego County, as well as the programs in place to minimize or eliminate those hazards .
The Plan is updated every five years to include current hazards, risks, and potential actions to reduce the impact of those hazards .
