Visit of MOS (KVS) to the United Kingdom and Chile (March 08 – 12, 2026)

Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh [MOS (KVS)] will be leading the Indian delegation for 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) and Commonwealth Day celebrations being held in London, United Kingdom, from 08-09 March 2026.

2. India is one of the largest contributors to the Commonwealth and has assisted the organisation with technical assistance and capacity building. The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 56 countries and serves a vital platform to deepen India's engagement with Commonwealth members, in particular the Small States and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). MOS (KVS) is expected to meet with the Commonwealth leadership and counterparts from some of the Member States. Samoa is the current Commonwealth Chair-in-Office.

3. In the second leg of his visit, MoS (KVS) will visit the Republic of Chile from 10-12 March 2026 to represent the Government of India at the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of Chile, H.E. Mr. José Antonio Kast Rist. During the visit, Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh is expected to call on the outgoing President of Chile, H.E. Mr. Gabriel Boric Font, and with the incoming President, H.E. Mr. José Antonio Kast Rist, as well as the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chile, H.E. Mr. José Francisco Pérez Mackenna.

4. India and Chile enjoy warm and friendly relations based on shared democratic values and growing cooperation across diverse sectors. The visit will reaffirm India's commitment to a robust bilateral partnership focused on trade and investment, technology collaboration, critical minerals and mining, development cooperation, and strengthening people-to-people ties.
