EUNAVFOR ASPIDES: TRAINING EXERCISES
The air assets of the Italian Frigate LUIGI RIZZO play a key role in supporting Operation ASPIDES. These assets are capable of conducting medical evacuations and maritime situational awareness operations across the area of responsibility.

During flight operations, the aircrew can employ advanced countermeasure systems to defend against multiple threats, including heat-seeking missiles. These systems are regularly tested through training scenarios to ensure readiness and effectiveness in operational environments.
EUNAVFOR ASPIDES has a totally defensive mandate, contributes to regional stability and prosperity by providing safety to fellow seafarers and protecting global common goods.
