19 OU undergraduates inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma

The Oakland University School of Business Administration inducted 19 undergraduate business students into Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) on April 9. Students are invited to join the honor society based on their academic excellence, including majoring in a business field and ranking within the top 10% of undergraduate students or top 20% of graduate students.

BGS is the international business honor society recognizing top-performing students from around the world and connecting them to a global network of high-achieving business leaders. Membership is extended to top-performing students from AACSB-accredited business schools, representing approximately the top 5% of business programs worldwide. Inductees join a global community of Beta Gamma Sigma members who uphold the highest standards of academic excellence and leadership in business.

OU's BGS chapter earned the "Highest Honors" status for several years running, the highest level of recognition a chapter can achieve as part of the Chapter Honor Roll Program. The OU chapter is dedicated to academic excellence, cultivating future business leaders and nurturing a commitment to honor, integrity and community.

"Beta Gamma Sigma is a meaningful recognition of the hard work and dedication our students demonstrate every day," said Karen Person, assistant director of experiential programs. "We are proud to celebrate their achievements and support their continued growth as future business leaders."

Congratulations to Peyton Werner, recipient of the Beta Gamma Sigma $1,000 Honor Roll Scholarship. A 4.0 accounting and finance student, Werner exemplifies the values of Beta Gamma Sigma through her academic excellence and leadership, demonstrated in her roles with BGS and other student organizations, as well as the completion of multiple internships.
