Road Construction: Resurfacing of Idle Hour Drive and 36th Street to begin September 9, 2025
A contractor working for the City of Phenix City will begin resurfacing 36th Street and Idle Hour Drive from Summerville Road to 5th Avenue. Work is expected to begin Tuesday September 9, 2025 and is expected to last until the project is completed. Dates and times are subject to change due to weather. 36th Street and Idle Hour Drive are included in the detour for the Summerville Road closure so traffic will be heavy at times, please refer to the Summerville Road closure Media Release and Map for alternative routes. During this time delays should be expected, and travel times adjusted accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation.
