President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė, together with King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, met with the Lithuanian Scouts at the Presidential Palace.
Particular attention during the meeting was given to international scouting ties and the long-standing experience of the King of Sweden in the scout movement. His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf has been actively involved in scouting since childhood, and this experience, according to the President, serves as an inspiring example for the younger generation worldwide.
"Scouting is more than an organization-it is a school of life where young people learn responsibility, community spirit, and respect for others. Such experiences help build a Lithuania that is strong in its values and open to the world," President Gitanas Nausėda pointed out.
During the meeting, the King of Sweden was presented with a symbolic gift from the Lithuanian Scouts-a scouting neckerchief, framed as a commemorative token.
The meeting was attended by Chief of the Lithuanian Scouts Gabrielė Kučytė-Bunė, Chair of the Council Ieva Brogienė, members of the Council and the Board of the Lithuanian Scouts, as well as scouts from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Marijampolė, Panevėžys, and from sea and air scouting communities.
After the restoration of independence, the Lithuanian Scouts has united thousands of scouts across the country for more than 30 years, and is the largest scouting organization in the Baltic region, affiliated with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
