Recognition reflects sustained investment in real-time, embedded support for healthcare teams
Evanston, Ill. - For the fourth consecutive year, Endeavor Health has earned the Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America, the organization's highest level of national recognition. With a score of 99 out of 100, Endeavor Health ranks among the top 1% of organizations nationwide. Only one in four employers meet the standard for certification.
As healthcare organizations continue to navigate workforce strain and evolving employee expectations, Endeavor Health has focused on making mental health support accessible, immediate and part of the day-to-day work environment.
"Workforce wellbeing is no longer a 'nice to have.' It is a core operational and clinical priority, directly tied to retention, patient outcomes and long-term sustainability," said Dianna Sparacino, Chief People Officer at Endeavor Health. "Earning Platinum recognition for a fourth year reflects the intentional work we've done to ensure our teams have support when and where they need it."
Turning Commitment into Action
The Bell Seal evaluates organizations across workplace culture, benefits, compliance and wellbeing programs. At Endeavor Health, this recognition is the result of a sustained, systemwide strategy to embed mental health support into the daily experience of every team member.
Over the past five years, Endeavor Health has launched more than 250 wellbeing initiatives and built an effective Wellbeing & Vitality program designed to support team members through moments of stress, burnout, grief and workplace trauma.
At the center of this work is a dedicated team of wellbeing support advisors. These licensed mental health clinicians provide one-on-one support, group sessions and real-time guidance for individuals and leaders across the system. This support becomes especially critical in moments of crisis and loss.
"I received a call from the RISE (Resilience In Stressful Events) team the morning after we lost a colleague," said Jeffrey C. Cilley, MD, oncologist with the Endeavor Health Medical Group. "They helped us quickly create a plan to communicate the news and mobilize support for our team members to have time and space for mourning, all while allowing us to proceed with the day and take care of our scheduled patients. Even after the initial day, the RISE team continued to check in on individual team members and support them in the way they needed. None of us in the cancer center felt alone."
Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all solution, Endeavor Health has built a multidimensional approach to wellbeing:
"At the center of every care experience is a person, including the people delivering that care," said Lindsay Fazio, PhD, Assistant Vice President, Wellbeing & Clinician Experience at Endeavor Health. "Earning this recognition affirms that the environment we're building is one where people feel supported, seen and able to build lasting careers in healthcare. Our focus will continue to be on creating an environment where people feel valued, not just in the hardest moments, but throughout their entire journey in healthcare."
