IPSWICH, Mass. - October 5, 2026 - EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has released its 2027 Serials Price Projection Report, providing libraries and publishers with insights to help inform planning for the upcoming renewal cycle. EBSCO's 2027 serials price projections include:
The 2027 Serials Price Projections Report also examines several factors influencing serials pricing and library collection decisions, including inflation, production and delivery costs, publication output, title mix, licensing terms, and publisher packaging restructuring. Transformative Agreements, Read and Publish agreements and Open Access models are also changing how publishing costs are allocated across institutions and prompting libraries and publishers to reevaluate pricing models. The projections are based on EBSCO's analysis of publisher survey responses, incoming publisher pricing data, historical pricing patterns and current exchange rates.
While this report is grounded in thorough analysis, EBSCO recommends exercising caution when interpreting its projections, as they are based on historical patterns, estimates, and current exchange rates. To gain a deeper understanding, including separate price increase estimates by format as well as potential currency impacts, readers are encouraged to review the full 2027 Serials Price Projection Report.
