Madisonville, KY (October 9, 2026) - For many years, Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville has operated our own Blood Bank to serve the needs of our patients. At the same time, Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center has been operating as a non-profit community blood center serving Western Kentucky since 1978. We are now proud to say we are working together to serve the needs of patients throughout the Madisonville region.
Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center is the exclusive supplier of blood and blood products for nine area hospitals and three Air Evac helicopters. "With rising operational costs and the need for a consistent supply of blood to care for our patients, this partnership makes the most sense for Western Kentucky," stated Amanda Wagoner, Chief Operating Officer, Kentucky Region for Deaconess Health.
"We are also excited to announce that WKRBC will be collecting blood donations from our loyal donors in our lab three days per week to allow them the opportunity to donate in a familiar place," added Wagoner.
At this time, donors can give on Mondays from 8 am - 4 pm, Wednesdays from 10 am - 6 pm, and on Fridays from 8 am - 4 pm. To schedule your appointment, call 270.326.5029 or 270.684.9296. As need grows, additional days may be added.
Blood donated to WKRBC stays local, which was another important part of the decision for Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville to enter this partnership. When you donate blood, you are helping to save the lives of your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and community. Blood cannot be manufactured or synthetically produced; it only comes from the generous donations of the community.
"Our goal is to continue to grow and raise awareness of the need for blood donation," said Madi Richardson, Public Relations and Donor Recruitment for WKRBC. "We are so excited to work with the people of Madisonville even closer than before. If you know of any local business wishing to help make an impact by hosting a blood drive, please reach out to
[email protected]."
